TOMATO AND THE ORIGINAL BLACK GARLIC CHUTNEY RECIPE

TOMATO AND BLACK GARLIC CHUTNEY IS A DELICIOUS, VEGAN, SWEET & SOUR, UMAMI NOTES UNDERLINED CONDIMENT.  IT IS AN EASY, VERSATILE, ONE PAN, 1 HOUR RECIPE PACKED WITH AMAZING FLAVOUR

serves - 4 people             difficulty - easy            prep time - 10 mins 

Ingredients

  • 1kg organic, ripe tomatoes, cored, skin on, roughly sliced

  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar

  • 1 tbsp brown sugar

  • 1 tsp ground cumin

  • ½ tsp red chilli flakes

  • 8 cloves The Original Black Garlic, sliced finely

  • Salt

 

TO MAKE                                                                      

  • Place all ingredients (apart from salt) in a large saucepan and simmer uncovered for one hour until most of the moisture has evaporated and you’re left with a jam consistency.

  • Remember to stir it now and again.                                                           

  • Season with salt to taste.
