Strawberries with Black Garlic and Balsamic Vinegar - NEW!

This is delicious served with a sweet sparkling wine. 

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 1 large punnet of strawberries
  • 1 to 2 cloves of very finely chopped peeled black garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of caster sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar

 

Instructions

  1. Hull the strawberries and cut in half.
  2. Finely chop the black garlic and mix together with the balsamic vinegar and the sugar.  Taste and adjust sweetness accordingly.
  3. Place the marinade and the strawberries in a non-metallic bowl and leave in the fridge for one hour.
  4. Serve in small dishes with crème fraiche.  Garnish with fresh mint.
